OpenAccounts Financials is a modern GUI Client-Server Accounting solution.
OpenAccounts has been ICAEW IT accredited since 1994, and
won the coveted annual BASDA Best Corporate Accounting Solution award in
November 1997. Key factors in its success (besides superb functionality)
were its ease of use and rapid implementation times relative to those of
its competitors. Of course, time saved = money saved. OpenAccounts
is sold through Business Partners of which there are around 30 in the UK.
Each partner concentrates on a particular vertical market, allowing OpenAccounts
Ltd. to concentrate on developing best-of-breed performance into the core
product. Ethitec's target markets for OpenAccounts are firstly
the public sector and secondly those instances where a core financial system
must integrate with third party, legacy or new bespoke activity systems.
This capitalises on Ethitec's own skill in software development.
OpenAccounts supports, among others, the Windows NT and UNIX platforms. Written in Progress, it currently runs on the Progress and Oracle databases. The latest release for 1999 complies with BASDA's advanced specification for EMU when most competitors are taking the shortcut to the basic specification.
The OpenAccounts package is highly functional and extensively parameterised to meet individual customer requirements. Exporting to Windows applications is readily achieved using the OpenLink tool developed for the purpose of managing the integration of information between external applications and data migration. Using OpenLink, it is possible to drill down to source data within other applications. The user is also able to fully utilise the desktop OpenAccounts with dynamic links to many industry standard PC products widely in use, such as spreadsheets, word processing, business intelligence tools etc.
In-built management information provides critical information on a need-to-know basis with direct access to on-line data.
